Troop 70 has a rich history of Scouts obtaining the highest rank in Scouting, Eagle Scout. Only 2% of all Scouts ever obtain this distinguished honor.  Over the past fourteen years 29 Scouts from Troop 70 have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. This is incredible and is something the Troop is very proud of.

     The Boy Scouts of America have a program to recognize Troops for their accomplishments. Based on the annual goals set forth by a Troop, the local Council assesses how well the Troop did in satisfying the goals. The Troops are measured on their success with advancement, retention, trained leadership, new membership, the outdoor program, and community service.

     Over the years, Troop 70 has been one of only a handful of Troops in our Council to obtain this distinguished recognition. Troop 70 was presented the Quality Award for 2008 and 2009.  The Centennial Award was presented to Troop 70 in 2010, the Journey to Excellence Silver award was presented to Troop 70 for 2011, and for 2012 through 2016, the Troop earned the Journey to Excellence Gold Award.
